Below Deck crew members are typically sworn to secrecy about the celebrity guests aboard their superyachts, but at a recent event, former Below Deck Mediterranean Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier may have let it slip that Sean “Diddy” Combs was once a charter guest on her yacht.
During a City Cruises Live event in New York City, Hannah appeared alongside Captain Sandy Yawn for a highly anticipated reunion between the two former crew members. Captain Sandy fired Hannah during Below Deck Med Season 5 after prescription medication and a vape pen were found in Hannah’s cabin, which sparked a years-long feud. But that’s all water under the bridge and the pair teamed up to dish about the show and their renewed friendship. While Hannah and Captain Sandy made a slew of revelations, it was Hannah’s tease that Diddy was on a boat she once worked on that may have been the most shocking.
“The difference between private and charter is if that’s a private boat, and the captain is allowing whatever to happen, literally whatever can happen, can happen,” Hannah said to the crowd in a video shared by Decider. “And if you’re not comfortable, you have to leave. I worked on a boat that had on a gentleman who’s on trial in New York at the moment. And that was…” she said, leaving a gap in the story for the imagination to fill in the blanks. “He might be a famous rapper or hip hop mogul artist!” the former Chief Stew shared, without dropping any specific names.
What Happened Between Captain Sandy and Chief Stew Hannah on ‘Below Deck Med’?
While working together on the Below Deck spin-off, Captain Sandy and Hannah butted heads, often finding ways not to see eye-to-eye. Whether it was management styles, questions of work ethic, and playing favorites, the duo were at odds, causing drama on board. It was a push-pull relationship. But it all came to a head when Captain Sandy fired Hannah after not disclosing a prescription for Valium and harboring a vape pen. The controversial decision sparked a flurry of opinions, ultimately causing a rift between the pair.
After years apart, Captain Sandy and Hannah have made amends. Three years after severing ties as co-workers, Captain Sandy revealed on the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel radio show that they had reunited. “I saw Hannah the other night and we had a great conversation,” she happily shared. “I went to her house and I met her baby, her husband.” They have since rekindled their friendship, noting how they’ve both changed and grown since filming Below Deck Mediterranean together.
Currently, Combs, the disgraced hip-hop superstar, is facing jury deliberations in his high-profile trial. He faces five charges, including racketeering conspiracy, and two counts each of sex trafficking and transporting individuals for prostitution. If found guilty of the most serious charges, Combs could face up to life in prison.
The event, which had multiple tour stops, featured Captain Sandy and Hannah sharing behind-the-scenes stories, spilling on jaw-dropping plot twists and scandals, and revealing what really happens when the cameras aren’t rolling. Joined by Daryn Carp, they will make stops next in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco.
