So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

GULP (SUPER FURRY ANIMALS) – “HOPE SHINES THROUGH THE HAAR”

Gulp, the tropicalia/krautrock-inspired duo featuring Super Furry Animals bassist Guto Pryce and singer Lindsey Leven, have announced third album Beneath Strawberry Moons which will be out August 29 via E.L.K.Records / Republic of Music. “I couldn’t ignore the history we are living through whilst writing the lyrics for this album, even if they exist mainly as almost subliminal in the background,” Leven says of the first single. “‘Haar’ is a Scottish word for sea mist. We get a lot of it where we live. If we can all look out for each other, we can look for that glimmer through the Haar. Here is hoping.”

GRANT-LEE PHILLIPS – “SHE KNOWS ME”

Veteran alt-rock singer-songwriter Grant-Lee Phillips will release his 12th album, In the Hour of Dust, on September 5 via Yep Roc. “The mood on this album is contemplative,” says Phillips. “It’s about trying to find meaning in an age of confusion, feeling your way through the blinding dust of unreality.”

DELICATE STEVE – “WE’LL BE FRIENDS”

Steve Marion has announced his new Delicate Steve album which is titled Luke’s Garage and will be out August 22. He played every instrument on the record and says it was inspired in part by J Dilla’s Donuts

STREET SECTS – “SPITTING IMAGES” / STREET SEX – “TURN BLUE”

Austin industrial-punks Street Sects have announced two new albums, one as Street Sects called Dry Drunk and one as Street Sex called Full Color Eclipse. Both were produced by Chelsea Wolfe collaborator Ben Chisholm, and a track from each is out now. “Spitting Images” is classic Street Sects, while the Street Sex song has more of an ’80s synthpop vibe. Both new albums come out on August 15 via HEALTH’s new label COMPULSION.

    INNUMERABLE FORMS – “IMPULSE”

Innumerable Forms, the death-doom band with members of Sumerlands, Dream Unending, Power Trip, Mammoth Grinder, Iron Lung, Genocide Pact, and more, have announced a new LP called Pain Effulgence. It’s due out August 22 via Profound Lore, and the beastly lead single “Impulse” is out today.

THE CASKET LOTTERY – “BELL PENNY”

Kansas City punk/post-hardcore vets The Casket Lottery have shared the second taste of Feel the Teeth and you can read about it here.

FOO FIGHTERS – “I DON’T WANNA HEAR IT” (MINOR THREAT COVER)

Foo Fighters have shared a cover of Minor Threat’s hardcore classic “I Don’t Wanna Hear It,” which Dave Grohl says he recorded the instrumentals for in 1995 and then did the vocals this year. Read more here.
