The excitement is building for Haiwaan as the first look of Akshay Kumar from the film has just been released. The movie is already one of the most talked-about projects as it brings Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan back together on screen after 17 years. The film, which is being directed by the legendary Priyadarshan, officially began its shoot on August 23.
Akshay Kumar’s Ferocious Villain Look
The first look reveals Akshay Kumar in a never-before-seen avatar, confirming his role as the main villain. The picture shows Akshay with a buzz cut, a rough beard, and dark aviator sunglasses. A sandalwood tika on his forehead completes the intense and menacing look, promising a powerful performance from the superstar. The ferocious look has already started creating a huge buzz among fans, who are eager to see him play a negative character.
“Let’s Get The Haiwaniyat Rolling!”
To mark the first day of shooting, Akshay Kumar shared his excitement on social media. He posted a video and wrote a heartfelt note, saying, “Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan… Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan.” He called director Priyadarshan his “absolute favourite captain of the ship” and expressed his happiness about working with Saif again after nearly 18 years. He ended the post with an energetic call to action: “Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!”
Mohanlal Joins The Star Cast
In a massive update, director Priyadarshan has confirmed that South Indian superstar Mohanlal will also be a part of Haiwaan. This is huge news for fans, as it brings three powerhouse actors together. The director explained that Haiwaan is a remake of his own 2016 Malayalam blockbuster, Oppam, which originally starred Mohanlal in the lead role. While the story is the same, Priyadarshan has made several changes to the script for the Hindi audience. Speaking about his comfort level with Akshay, he even called him “Bollywood’s Mohanlal.”
With Akshay Kumar playing a menacing villain, his reunion with Saif Ali Khan, and the surprise addition of Mohanlal, Haiwaan is shaping up to be a must-watch film.
