While Liev Schreiber has taken on many impressive roles onscreen through the years, nothing can top becoming a parent.
Schreiber and actress Naomi Watts, who were together for over a decade, welcomed son Sasha and daughter Kai in 2007 and 2008, respectively. While Schreiber and Watts split in 2016, they always kept coparenting at the forefront of their priorities.
“You can see how important it is to them that their parents care about each other and that no matter what happens, you continue to try and do that,” Schreiber said on Sunday Today With Willie Geist in January 2018. “It’s important to support each other, you know? It’s really important. I was making some jokes this morning at breakfast about mommy with the [kids], and their eyes light up when I talk about her.”
He added, “I think the way we’ve looked at this is that we’ll always be partners and that’s what kind of keeps us together and keeps us amicable.”

Schreiber eventually moved on with Taylor Neisen, whom he wed in July 2023, and they welcomed daughter Hazel later that year. Watts, for her part, married her Gypsy costar Billy Crudup in June 2023.

Liev’s parents were also actors. Tell, who died in 2021, notably starred in 1976’s The Keeper before divorcing Migram several years later. She was prominently featured in the movie White Crow, which premiered in 2005.
Pablo Schreiber
Liev has a younger half-brother from dad Tell’s relationship with Lorraine Reaveley, though they did not grow up together. The siblings first met when Pablo, who also became an actor, was 16.
“It’s very interesting to get to know a person you didn’t know your whole life, and then begin to see your father in that person and see yourself in that person and to try and piece together what is important for you in that relationship,” Pablo told The Daily Beast in 2011. “To be totally honest, for me, our being brothers hasn’t been the big narrative of my life.”
Pablo shares two sons, Timoteo and Dante, with ex-wife Jessica Monty.
Alexander ‘Sasha’ Schreiber
Liev and Watts often share tributes to Sasha, who was born in 2007, both via social media and at award shows.
“Thank you to my beautiful wife, Taylor, and my son, Sasha, for convincing me to come,” Liev said at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards when he walked away with the trophy for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television for his role in The Perfect Couple. “I told them that there’s no way on God’s Earth in that company that I would win this award.”
Watts was also a nominee, leaving empty-handed, and walked the red carpet with Sasha before the ceremony began.
Kai Schreiber
After fashion model Kai publicly came out as transgender, both Liev and Watts continued to support their younger child, born in 2008.
“Kai was always who Kai is, but I suppose the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns,” Liev told Variety in May 2025. “To be honest with you, it didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long.”
He added, “Kai is such a fighter. It’s important that she goes, ‘Hey, I am trans,’ and, ‘Look at me,’ and, ‘F–k you. F–k off.’”
In June 2025, Kai opened up in Interview Magazine about her budding modeling career and her hopes for her future in the fashion world.
“I want to be a supermodel. Period,” she told the outlet. “I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film. Struggling with gender identity from a young age most likely had something to do with it. I always wanted to grow up and be a beautiful, glamorous, influential woman, like Marilyn.”
Kai also talked about some of the people she is most inspired by in the industry.
“As a young trans girl, I’m always going to look up to the older generation of transgender people, especially in fashion,” she said. “People like Alex Consani, Hunter Schafer, Hari Nef, Dara, Richie Shazam, Colin Jones and so many more.”
Kai added, “It’s so great that there’s a strong community of us in the fashion world; it’s really a doll takeover. It’s important to all of us to have a sense of community, especially when we’re under such hostile attack.”
Though her celebrity status is on the rise, Kai revealed she has a curfew just like other kids her age: “I do: 12:30/1. Which is respectable, honestly. I always beg my parents to extend it when I’m out with my friends, but once I’m back in my bed watching my show with my snacks, I’m so happy to be there,” she said.
Hazel Schreiber
Liev and Neisen welcomed their first baby together in September 2023.
“So happy that Hazel Bee is finally here. She arrived early in the morning of August 27th and has been a dream every day since,” he wrote via Instagram. “Mom and baby are both super happy and healthy. Thanks to all for the love and support.”
