The long wait is finally over for fans of one of Bollywood’s most beloved on-screen duos. Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan have officially started shooting for their upcoming thriller, Haiwaan. The film, directed by the legendary Priyadarshan, marks their reunion on the big screen after a gap of nearly 18 years.
Akshay Kumar shared the exciting news on his Instagram account today, posting a video from the first day of shooting in Kochi. The clip gave fans a wonderful glimpse of the fun and energy on set, proving that the chemistry between the two actors is just as electric as ever. The film promises to be a high-octane thriller and will also be shot in Ooty and Mumbai.
The ‘Saint’ And The ‘Haiwaan’ Reunite
In the video shared by Akshay, he is seen holding the film’s clapperboard while Priyadarshan and Saif Ali Khan stand beside him. The playful banter that made their pairing so famous was on full display. Saif jokingly pointed to Akshay’s t-shirt, which had ‘Saint’ written on it, and quipped, “You should wear ‘Devil’ instead.”
Akshay hilariously responded by pointing at Saif and telling the director, “This Devil you don’t know about. But I know this Devil very well.” In his caption, Akshay wrote, “Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan…Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan :)) Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today… Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling!!”

Haiwaan is a high-octane thriller directed by Priyadarshan and produced by KVN Productions in association with Thespian Films. According to reports, the film is a Hindi remake of the acclaimed 2016 Malayalam movie Oppam, which starred Mohanlal. It is also reported that Akshay Kumar will be playing the role of the antagonist in the film, adding another exciting layer to this much-awaited project.
