Patrick Berger and Fabrizio Romano are currently reporting that Borussia Dortmund have approached Chelsea with a double offer for Carney Chukwuemeka and Aarón Anselmino. The Bundesliga outfit seeks to acquire Anselmino on loan without a purchase option while a €20m offer has been tendered for Chukwuemeka.
Dortmund’s latest attempt to acquire Chuwuemeka on loan with a purchase option was rejected by the Blues. BVB were known to be targeting Anselmino as a means of helping shore up their thin defensive ranks. Romano reports that Anselmino wishes to move to Germany and has given his okay.
Anselmino stands little chance of playing in London this season and barely featured for Chelsea during their Club World Cup campaign. Chukwuemeka played for Dortmund during the CWC, making four substitute appearances.
Dortmund are currently carrying a 26-man-squad into the start of competitive play. Die Schwarzgelben have also been linked with a late swoop for West Ham’s Edson Alvarez.
