Chelsea 3-0 Paris Saint-Germain – Report result and goals as Blues become world champions

Chelsea produced a stunning performance, cruising to a 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain to win the Club World Cup and become champions.

A brace from Cole Palmer and a stunning finish from Joao Pedro sealed the win before half-time, leaving PSG stunned and unable to respond despite numerous second-half substitutions and attempts to shift the momentum.

From the first whistle, Chelsea looked the more aggressive and structured side.

Early chances fell to Palmer and Marc Cucurella, with the Blues pressing high and winning set pieces deep in PSG’s half.

Their early pressure was rewarded in the 22nd minute when Malo Gusto’s overlapping run and low cross found Palmer in the centre of the box. The forward took his chance, firing a left-footed shot into the bottom corner to put the hosts ahead.

Just eight minutes later, Palmer doubled his tally, this time at the end of a lightning-quick counter-attack.

Levi Colwill surged forward and picked out Palmer, who again found the net with his left foot, this time tucking it inside the post with a composed finish.

At 2-0, Chelsea had full control of the match, despite facing the ruthless European champions.

The French champions tried to muster a response, with Desire Doue and Joao Neves both testing Robert Sanchez in the Chelsea goal.

However, the Spanish keeper was alert and made several key saves throughout the match to maintain his clean sheet.

The third and final goal came just before the break. Palmer turned provider, sliding a clever through ball into Joao Pedro’s path.

The striker made no mistake, finishing high into the top corner to give Chelsea a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time.

The scoreline was a fair reflection of the first half, with Chelsea ruthless in front of goal and PSG uncharacteristically passive and error-prone.

The second half saw PSG attempt to claw their way back with a triple substitution on 73 minutes, introducing Goncalo Ramos, Warren Zaire-Emery, and Senny Mayulu in hopes of injecting some urgency.

But Chelsea, buoyed by their first-half dominance, stayed disciplined and continued to frustrate the visitors.

PSG’s frustrations boiled over in the final stages. Joao Neves received a red card in the 86th minute following a VAR review for violent conduct, reducing the visitors to ten men and effectively ending any slim hopes of a comeback.

Nuno Mendes and Ousmane Dembele were also shown yellow cards as tempers flared, capping off a night to forget for Luis Enrique’s side.

Palmer was undoubtedly the star of the show. His form peaking ahead of the 2025-26 campaign will be music to Chelsea fans’ ears as they look to mount a Premier League title challenge.
