Eze expected to be left out of Palace squad amid desire to join Tottenham

Eberechi Eze is expected to be left out of the Crystal Palace squad to face Chelsea after reportedly informing the club of his desire to join Tottenham.

Eze, crucial in Palace lifting their first major trophy last season as they stunned Manchester City in the FA Cup, and a part of the side that overcame Liverpool in the Community Shield on penalties last week, has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham.

But Arsenal are said to need to make sales in order to progress with a move for the forward, while Spurs are thought to be unlikely to meet the England international’s £68million release clause.

Eze, though, appears to have his heart set on a move to Thomas Frank’s side, who have been largely quiet in the transfer market to this point.

🚨⚪️ Eberechi Eze has informed Crystal Palace earlier this weeks about his desire to join Tottenham.

Talks progressing as Eze already said yes to Spurs project, ready to make his move this month.

    Eze sets sights on Spurs

No deal has been struck, but talks between Palace and Spurs are said to be progressing, with Eze keen to make the move as soon as possible.

Mohammed Kudus arrived from West Ham last month in Tottenham’s marquee signing of the summer, with Mathys Tel making his loan move permanent and Joao Palhinha joining on loan from Bayern Munich.

Eze, though, would markedly improve Tottenham’s options in attacking areas and help them fill the void left by James Maddison’s knee ligament injury.

An outstanding 2024-25 season saw Eze score 15 goals and provide 11 assists in all competitions for Palace.

But his near five-year spell at Selhurst Park looks set to come to an end, with his potential departure and Marc Guehi’s possible move to Liverpool likely to further manager Oliver Glasner’s frustration at Palace’s lack of transfer activity so far.
