Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Altay Bayindir 4 – Just not good enough on set pieces. Bullied during every routine and failed to relieve pressure at the back or command his area. Almost got an assist for Matheus Cunha and made a good save to deny Josh King.

Leny Yoro 8 – Played a big role in United’s opener, with his header being deflected in by Rodrigo Muniz. Defended astutely, the highlight of which was a last-ditch tackle to deny King from breaking through on goal with only Bayindir to beat.

Matthijs de Ligt 6 – Did well against Muniz and made some aggressive defensive contributions. A number of very crucial clearances and interceptions that kept Fulham out. Picked up where he left off against Arsenal.

Luke Shaw 5 – Decent performance but dropped off slightly in the second half.

Amad 4 – One of his poorer displays for United. Not nearly as involved as he usually is and almost cost the team as he was recklessly dispossessed while attempting a drag-back.

Casemiro 5 – Just doesn’t offer enough control and attempted two or three very speculative over-the-top balls that killed United’s momentum. Some nice moments but struggled again with the pace in the middle of the park.

Bruno Fernandes 3 – Poor. Skied his penalty but it wasn’t just that. Not impactful in a deeper position and just like Casemiro, doesn’t offer the legs or control that the role demands. Just not good enough on the ball.

Patrick Dorgu 4 – Also not good enough. Offered width but that was just about it and also struggled at the back while the Cottagers were in the ascendency.

Mason Mount 6 – Very promising early on, producing turns, backheels and combining well with Cunha, but he couldn’t maintain the level and ultimately fell off.

Bryan Mbeumo 4 – Tough day in the office against a physically imposing Calvin Bassey. Just couldn’t get into the game.

Matheus Cunha 7 – Had three clear-cut chances to score in the early stages but was thwarted by the post and twice by Bernd Leno. His influence faded a bit as Fulham stepped up the ante. If United were to get three points, it would have most likely come from him.

    Substitutes

Diogo Dalot 2 – Horror cameo. Needlessly lost the ball for Fulham’s equaliser. Lethargic display and just didn’t look the part at all.

Benjamin Sesko 5 – Didn’t get chances to pounce on but worked hard and held up the ball well.

Manuel Ugarte 4 – Another pointless substitution. How he’s getting minutes over Kobbie Mainoo is a mystery.

Ayden Heaven 5 – Helped ensure United got a share of the spoils.

Harry Maguire 6 – Nearly scored the winner with a header at the backpost but dragged his effort wide.
