Jr NTR has officially wrapped his portion of the much-anticipated action thriller War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films. On July 7, the Telugu superstar shared his excitement and praised his co-star Hrithik Roshan’s energy and work ethic.
In his post on X, Jr NTR wrote, “And it’s a wrap for #War2! So much to take back from this one. It’s always a blast being on set with @iHrithik Sir. His energy is something I have always admired. There is so much I have learned from him on this journey of War 2. Ayan has been amazing. He has truly set the stage for a big surprise package for the audience. A big thanks to the entire @yrf team and all our crew for the love and effort. Can’t wait for all of you to experience this high on August 14th (sic).”

The action spectacle brings together Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir from War and Jr NTR’s newly introduced character in what is expected to be a face-off of epic proportions. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is part of the expanding YRF Spy Universe and is being positioned as a pan-India release. With over 7,500 screens booked globally and a three-week exclusive IMAX run, War 2 is on track to be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2025.
The buzz around the film also stems from its strategic promotional approach. According to industry reports, Hrithik and Jr NTR will be promoting the film separately to maintain the tension of their on-screen rivalry. Meanwhile, Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments has acquired the Telugu rights for a reported Rs 80 crore, a testament to the film’s commercial potential.
With a star-studded cast, high-octane action, and a strong emotional arc, War 2 promises a cinematic experience that’s both massive in scale and rooted in storytelling. The film is slated for release on August 14, 2025, just ahead of Independence Day.
