Kicker report that Bayer Leverkusen are closing in on a deal for former Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez. The 34-year-old is available on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with the Spanish giants, and has already completed a medical check with die Werkself.
This comes just hours after Bayer Leverkusen ceased negotiations with Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice for Jonathan Clauss after the two clubs failed to reach an agreement over the fee. Instead, the Bundesliga club are now set to sign Vazquez with the deal expected to be completed on Tuesday. During his time at Real, Vazquez played 310 games across all competitions across 17 seasons.
Kicker’s report that Vazquez has already undergone a medical coincides with Fabrizio Romano’s reporting.
