Kicker and Sport Bild are presently confirming Sky UK reports concerning the future of Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku. All sources claim that talks between the London club and Bundesliga record champions Bayern Munich have broken down. It appears as if the former RB Leipzig man will not be featuring at the Allianz Arena this season.
The reports suggest that Bayern were interested in a loan deal whilst the Blues only wish to sell. The Bavarians have no interest in shelling out an addition €35m after spending a reported €70m to acquire Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, though it has been reported that Bayern were willing to spend over €60m on Nick Woltemade.
The German giants appear set to opt for youth in the attack this season, relying on young prospects such as Lennart Karl, Wisdom Mike. and Jonah Kusi-Asare. There could still be a U-turn in the Chelsea-Bayern talks. Nkunku has also been linked with a return to Leipzig this summer as part of a swap deal involving Xavi Simons.
